With the seconds ticking down against Edneyville in the Regional Final and Hendersonville behind, the ball came to you. What was going through your mind?

“The original plan/play was to get the ball to Cynt. The other team knew the play and surrounded her. Once Cynt threw the ball to me, my immediate reaction was to shoot.  The clock was winding down and there was limited time to make another play. I focused, let the ball go and followed through like I'd done many times. Resulting in the game winning shot.”

What did that season teach you about the power of teamwork?

“The entire season was about teamwork because we found ourselves in situations that we had to depend and trust one another. Coach Mike came up with the chant, 'We Believe' early in the season and we adopted it each time before going on the floor. I feel it helped us bond and also adopt the belief in ourselves and one another to believe we had the victory every time.”

How much did you hate the running in practice?

“Practice was torture in the beginning. Coach Johnson would condition us to maintain stamina. Teamwork was built in running as well. He began timing us to complete suicides and we had to make sure our teammates beat the clock also. If one failed, we all failed. We were our sister's keeper.”
